Here is the long awaited info on the last tournament of the 2001 Alberta Disc Golf Tour!

Fall Classic

Saturday, September 29, 2001

Lloyd Park, Red Deer Lake Alberta.

(5 minutes west of McLeod Trail on Hwy 22X)

Tee-Off Time for 1st Round: 11:00 a.m. SHARP

Tee-Off for 2nd Round will be one hour after last group comes in from 1st round.

Registration will be from 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Player's meeting will be at 10:45 am SHARP

Tournament Fees:

Pro: $45.00 (cash pay-outs only, no prizes)

Open: $35.00 (prizes only, no cash pay-outs)

Novice: $25.00 (prizes only, no cash pay-outs)

There will be a $5.00 discount on your tournament fees with a food bank donation.

There will be a $5.00 discount on your fees if you are registered by 9:45 am.

This is the final single points tournament of the tour, lowest double points have already been dropped from the standings. If you would like to take a look and see where you stand, the website address is:

After Saturday's tournament, Steve M, Gil V, and Tanya D will sort out the tour point standings which will include a single points drop-

At the awards ceremony on Saturday, the top 8 golfers in each of the following divisions will be invited to play in the skins match on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001. If a player who makes the cut is not available to play, the 9th place golfer will be invited to take his or her place, etc.

Divisions for Skins:

Pro Men: $10.00/skin pay-out

Open Men: $5.00/skin pay-out

Ladies (inclusive): $5.00/skin pay-out

There is no cost to golfers in the Skins match, and it is by invitation only.

Tee-off for skins (one round of 18) will be 10:00 am

Please note that CDGA ($260.00) and EDGA ($100.00) are footing the bill for Skins out of proceeds from the tournaments we have hosted throughout the season. The reason that CDGA is donating more is not because EDGA is cheap, but because CDGA hosted 5 of the 7 tournaments, and EDGA hosted 2 of the 7.

On Sunday, we will be hosting a drop disc doubles tournament for those who did not make the Championship Skins match. Tee-off for the doubles tournament will be 10:30 am. Cost for doubles is $10.00/golfer. There will be cash prizes for the top teams in the doubles as well.

Also, please note that overnight camping is available on-site and that we have the exclusive use of the park for both Saturday and Sunday. Cost for Camping is $3.00 tent - payable to Tanya Dixon.

There are washrooms, running water (but no showers), bbq's, picnic tables, and a fire pit on site as well. There are no nearby restaurants, (closest is a good 10 minute drive) so CDGA will be providing burgers, soft drinks, and bottled water for a nominal cost at the lunch break, but we will not be providing any alcoholic beverages, so if you wish to have some, bring some!

CDGA is in the process of making an application to the MD of Foothills to have a permanent 18 hole course at this location, therefore it is imperative that we make a good impression.
